Associate Degree in Business.

"My time at UQ has been very rewarding and challenging at the same time. I first started out at university as a young fresh high school graduate at 17 years old. I took the opportunity to undergo an Associate degree in Business which helped me identify exactly what courses I wanted to fully engage in once I moved into my Bachelor’s and after completing it, it sure helped me to outline exactly what I wanted to do. Completing the associate degree at 19 years old inspired me to reach for further academic opportunities to better my career and hopefully build a sustainable life for myself once I enter into the workforce

During my time at UQ I met the friendly members of UQSPIA. I found that this club helped me during my time at UQ to succeed in my tertiary studies and be comfortable in my own skin, embrace my culture and stay connected to god and have faith to push through the challenges that tertiary life can bring. I remember a time two young Polynesians girls attending a school trip to UQ approached me and asked “As a Female Polynesian what do you think about uni?” My instant response was “Do it!”. Regardless of the stereotype that university is portrayed as sometimes, my parents told me to look at it as a wonderful opportunity to learn, grow and succeed. I am blessed to be apart of this university, I am indebted to my parents for supporting me through my studies and have immense love for the UQSPIA. Glory to God though for providing countless blessings, wonderful memories. Taking the university road is something I do not regret. Arohamai whanau xox"
