"This achievement of mine cannot be celebrated alone and therefore I give thanks to all my families and friends who have supported me and cheered me on as I completed my program. With this part of my journey complete, I plan to move on to the next chapter of my life which to go back and contribute to the growth and development of my small island country.

My time here at UQ will always have a special place in my heart, and UQSPIA is one of the 13 reasons why. The people who I have met along the way (who I’m sure will become community or world leaders one day) are the highlight of my time here at UQ. These people who I can proudly call friends or “mates” have shown me how much potential and positive impact us Pacific Islanders can have. Not only in areas that are stereotypically tied to us such as Sports but in areas also such as Medicine, Physiotherapy, Engineering, Public relations, Law, OHS, Environmental Science, Teaching, Info Technology, Business, Music (Sekidelic) and so much more. Their stories and success have INSPIA'd and motivated me to also do my best and chase my dreams. For that I am thankful for my SPIA Fam.

Moments and interactions in SPIA such as weekly sports, feeds after a long day of Uni (doing absolutely nothing), late nights study sessions at Duhig or Psych Labs, dance practices for culture night or meet ups at the red room are some of the moments that truly made my university experience a memorable and enjoyable one and I will definitely miss and forever cherish them.

To end my testimony, I believe it is important to have a support group when facing any challenges in life. People who’ll always have your back and want to see you succeed. This will make your journey a whole lot easier and a whole lot worth it. If you have come to UQ alone, SPIA will always be available to be that support you need and you will definitely hear that support when you make that walk across that stage.
